Who You Are Hiring

No Office to Route You Through

Wendel owns WCS Prime Services Corp. He comes to your home himself, measures it himself, writes the estimate himself, and then he is on the job every day it is open, with the same helper beside him from the first drop cloth to the final walkthrough.

There is no office to route you through and no crew you have never met pulling into your driveway. When you call (941) 263-0912, you are talking to the person who is going to be painting your home.

More Than Paint is the line under our logo, and it is meant literally. The coating is the last step. The job is everything underneath it.

Our Story

Why Wendel Started WCS Prime Services

Wendel is a working painter, not an office. He is on the job site with his hands in the work, and he spends his days doing the trade rather than managing it from a truck window. On the Gulf Coast the coating is never what decides a paint job — the preparation underneath it is, and that is where he puts the hours.

He started WCS Prime Services to run jobs the way he thought they should be run. One owner. One helper. One standard. Nothing handed off to whoever happened to be available that morning, and no gap between the person who made the promise and the person holding the brush.

That is still the whole company today. Wendel walks the home, Wendel writes the scope, Wendel is there when the masking goes down, and Wendel is there for the walkthrough at the end. Most of what goes wrong on a painting job goes wrong in a handoff — the estimator saw one thing, the crew was told another, and the homeowner is left in the middle with a finish nobody wants to answer for. We removed the handoff instead of managing it.

More Than Paint means the coating is the easy part. The job is the low-pressure wash that takes off salt air residue, chalking and mildew. It is scraping and feathering the alligator cracking, filling the stucco hairline cracks, repairing the rot in the fascia before anything gets coated, and running elastomeric caulk at every window, door and joint. That is the part nobody photographs, and it is the part that decides how the finish holds.

How We Work

Four Things That Do Not Change, on Any Job

It is short on purpose — a short list is a list you can actually hold us to.

A painting company is not judged by what it says it does. It is judged by what happens on the fourth day, when the easy walls are done and the hard part is left. These four things are what we do the same way every time, on a single accent wall or a full exterior.

The same two people, start to finish

Wendel and one helper. Nobody rotates in on Thursday who was not there on Monday and does not know which door already got the bonding primer. The people who started your job are the people who finish it.

The owner is on the job

Wendel does not drop off a crew and drive to the next estimate. He is on site, in the work. The person accountable for the finish is the person applying it, which is the simplest quality control there is.

The scope is written before anything is opened

Every surface, the products, the number of coats, the repairs we found, the start date and the finish date, at a fixed price you approve before a drop cloth comes off the truck. No hourly surprises and no ‘while we were in there’ added to the invoice.

Your home is clean at the end of every day

Floors and furniture masked, tools out of the walkway, rooms handed back in a state you can live in. You are living in the home while we are working in it, and the schedule is built around that, not around us.

What You Get

What Is Actually Included When You Hire Us

Not a philosophy — a list of things that either happen on your job or they do not.

The finish is chosen for the surface, not for our convenience. Cabinets come off numbered, get degreased, get a bonding primer that grips laminate, thermofoil, oak or maple, and go back on with an HVLP sprayed finish that cures hard enough to open every day. Drywall repairs get the texture matched to the rest of the room — knockdown, orange peel, or a smooth Level 5 wall where the light is going to show every wave. A tongue-and-groove lanai ceiling gets stripped, sanded and stained, not painted over.

  • A free in-home visit. Wendel comes out, walks the rooms or the elevations, and measures. There is no charge and nothing to sign.
  • A written estimate. Surfaces, products, number of coats, the repairs we found, the start date and the finish date — on paper, in your hands.
  • A fixed price. The number on the estimate is the number on the invoice unless you add work to it and approve that in writing.
  • Insured. WCS Prime Services Corp carries liability insurance, and we will show you the certificate of insurance before we start.
  • Preparation you can inspect: washing off salt air residue, chalking and mildew; scraping and feathering alligator cracking; patching stucco hairline cracks; wood rot repaired in soffit and fascia before coating; elastomeric caulk at every window, door and joint.
  • Daily clean-up, and a final walkthrough with the owner before the job is closed out.

And if something is not right, you are not filing a ticket or waiting on a callback from an office. You are talking to Wendel, who was standing in that room.

Where We Work

Sarasota, Manatee County, and About 70 Miles Around It

Based in Sarasota, working across Sarasota and Manatee County — and out to roughly 70 miles when the job is worth the drive.

This is not one kind of home, and we do not price it like it is. A stucco exterior that has been standing in salt air. A manufactured home in a 55+ community. A lanai ceiling and a pool cage that get sun on one side and rain on the other. A fiber cement exterior in Lakewood Ranch with an HOA color list that has to be matched exactly and approved before anything gets opened. The preparation is different for each one, which is why the estimate comes after the visit and never over the phone.

The calendar is different here too. Exterior work runs best in the dry season, September through May, when an afternoon storm is not deciding how your day ends. And if you are here for snowbird season and want the interior finished before you head north, tell us on the first call — we will build the schedule around your dates instead of asking you to build yours around ours.

Common Questions

Questions About WCS Prime Services

Four things people ask on the first call, answered here so you do not have to.

Who is actually going to show up at my home?

Wendel, the owner, and one helper — the same two people from the first day to the last. Wendel does the in-home visit and writes the estimate himself, so the person who measured your home is the person painting it. Nobody new appears halfway through the job, and there is no crew rotating in that you have never met.

How long does a painting job take?

It depends on the surface and on how much preparation it needs, which is exactly why we come out and look before quoting anything. A single interior room is a short job; a full exterior that needs washing, scraping, stucco crack repair, caulking and two finish coats is a longer one. Whatever the answer is for your home, the start date and the finish date are written on your estimate before we begin — so you know the schedule going in, not while we are already in your driveway. Exterior work is easiest to plan in the dry season, September through May, when afternoon rain is not part of the schedule.

Are you insured?

Yes. WCS Prime Services Corp carries liability insurance, and we will show you the certificate of insurance before any work starts — just ask during the estimate visit. We only take on painting and finishing work: interior and exterior painting, cabinets, doors and trim, drywall repair and texture, popcorn ceiling removal, pressure washing, soffit and fascia, wood staining, floor and pool deck coatings, accent walls, and commercial repainting. If a project needs work outside of that, we will tell you at the visit rather than three weeks into the job.

How does the estimate work, and is it really free?

It is free, and there is nothing to sign. Wendel comes to your home at a time that works for you, walks the rooms or the elevations, measures, and looks at the surfaces — including the parts you did not ask about, like chalking on a wall or rot behind the fascia. Then you get a written estimate listing the surfaces, the products, the number of coats, the repairs he found, the start and finish dates, and one fixed price. We do not give a number over the phone, because a number over the phone is a guess. Call or text (941) 263-0912 to set a time.

If your question is not here, call (941) 263-0912 or write to info@wcsprimeservices.com. Wendel answers his own phone.
